Decision: The PLEASE BOM for projectId 39 (ESH10000462 R2 "B12 CB TA") was seeded from the MES R1 BOM as the starting baseline.
Source: mcp__sharpmes__get_bom_for_product(productId="ESH10000462", revision="1") — 46 BOM rows from MES rev 1 (status Manufacturing at time of import).
Result: please_component_create_bulk succeeded for all 46 rows, expanded to 204 individual bom_component records (PLEASE auto-expanded the refdes ranges).
Rationale: MES does not yet have an R2 BOM (R0 Obsolete + R1 Manufacturing are the only revisions). R2 is in-progress; importing R1 gives a baseline that the engineer iterates inside PLEASE as the R2 design evolves. Eventually MES R2 BOM will be authored matching the finalised R2 design.
Field mapping (MES → PLEASE): partNumber, partName, category, description, noMount, referenceDesignators (range strings passed through; PLEASE auto-expanded). quantity omitted (inferred from refdes expansion). alternatePartNumber / orderComment not populated in any source row, so nothing to preserve.

bom_componentrows on this project to reflect the actual R2 BOM. Use the PLEASE component-management tools, not MES (MES doesn't have R2 yet). - When MES R2 is eventually authored, the PLEASE BOM should be re-baselined against MES R2:
